Cha Cha Boo!

With Cha Cha Boo!, Patras introduces what they describe as their “canonical” sound—an artistic statement shaped by deep admiration for the golden era of rock. Drawing inspiration from legendary acts such as The Beatles, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, and The Zombies, the album pays tribute to the spirit of the 1960s and 1970s while reinterpreting it through a contemporary lens.

The album was developed over a six-month period across three key phases. Recording began in late 2024 with initial ideas which evolved into the albums early singles “Paint” and “She Wants Me (Still)”. By December 2024, the band entered a prolific creative period driven by jam sessions and spontaneous songwriting which spilled over into 2025 where Patras finalized production through a series of workshops, refining an initial pool of fifteen tracks into a focused ten-song album that captures the band’s identity as an unassuming yet dynamic four-piece.

With focus on finding the perfect sounds, Cha Cha Boo! enlists the aid of many musicians lending their expertise including Adra Karim (organ), Raka Soetrisno (trumpet), Narendra Nasharudin (orchestral composition), Nino Bukir (percussion) and Raka Ramadhani (backing vocals). Of course, the album would not be complete without Pandji Dharma whose mixing and mastering managed to combine all the elements into individual polished tracks. With the release of the album, on 10 April 2026, Patras is ready to hit the road on its domestic tour of Java and Bali spanning 9 cities during the course of May 2026, with hopes of promoting the album, building a fanbase and connecting with the community.

Sonically, Cha Cha Boo! blends psychedelic rock with a diverse range of influences, including Latin music, rock and roll, surf rock, baroque pop, and classic pop rock. The result is a rich, textured listening experience that stands confidently on its own while honoring the past. Bradley explains that the album’s title, Cha Cha Boo!, draws inspiration from “Bésame Mucho” by Consuelo Velázquez—a song frequently performed by The Beatles during their early live shows, where the phrase “cha-cha-boom” was often exclaimed. While the phrase itself does not appear in the album, its spirit encapsulates the energy and character of the record.
